Run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Emulator on Windows

Android 4.0 platform is available as a download in the Android SDK component, enabling developers to create and test their applications on Android 4.0 with Android emulator. Interested users can also test drive and experience amazing interface and features of ICS, simply by installing the official Android 4.0 emulator on their computers. If you want to test also the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich following steps for its installation:

  • Download the Android SDK Here:   

     

Download By Clicking HERE


  • Extract the Zip file contents to a folder on your desktop.

  • Run "SDK Manager.exe" from the folder. Check the box 'Android 4.0 (API 14)' and click "Install Packages" See the picture below:

Wait until all the components of the package was downloaded. (Requires Internet and may take a while depending on your connection speed.) If all packages have download an new window will pop up you click the Agree and Install.

  • After installation, a pop-up window appears and asks to restart the ADB. Click Yes.

  • Now run 'AVD Manager.exe' from the directory contained files in step 2. Click on 'New' to create a new AVD. Give the name of AVD, select the target Android 4.0, select the desired skin and Create AVD.

Note: This emulator consume CPU resources are sufficiently high, the higher the parameter set only if you have a strong system.

  • Choose your AVD of AVD Manager and click Start.

  • Done, if successful you will find the Android 4.0 emulator and it will boot ICS presents the initial screen as shown below:

Emulators can be controlled by using both mouse and keyboard. It may act a bit sluggish as memory intensive programs. ICS emulator has a set of virtual buttons and keyboard to operate it like a phone. You can explore a variety of functions, settings and menus ICS through this emulator.
